Kitchen Refurbishment

Kitchen Refurbishment

Are you ready to change the look of your kitchen? Either its the fact that something is missing and current kitchen doesnt really work for you at all in terms of design, look and feel or layout. Or possibly its that everything is fine in your kitchen, but the currently style has been kicking around for a while or maybe was there when you move in and you want to bring it up to day or put your own stamp on it.

One way that you can get most of the benefits of a kitchen refurbishment or makeover is to replace the doors with more modern styles with which will usually have a more current style of handle etc. One you have replaced the doors in your kitchen, with the new choice of handles and knobs, your refurbishment of kitchen is well underway.

If you want to take the changes in the kitchen further, then you would have to consider covering plinths and kickboards in coloured materials. Next updates to the Cornice and Pelmet would need to be considered, but these job really need a profession and professional tools to get the quality of finish that is need in a modern kitchen.

The next piece in this kitchen refurbishment adventure would be consideration of replacing the worktop. This and possibly the addition of funky kitchen backsplashes to match or coordinate styles can make a major difference to the look and feel of a kitchen. But this is a much more serious job, as the interface with water, electricity and gas services would have to be though about, and there may we be local or national regulations on these that may need to be adhered to. Thats why this is probably best left to professionals who will have experience of these and and will also have precision tools and skilled operators for working with the required materials. All that being said, a new worktop can bring out the look and feel of any kitchen, from traditional to something a bit more now, helping to create a worktop look that is in keeping with the surrrounding features. Some typical high quality materials are available such as:

granite
timber
high quality laminates

Here are some additional ideas of things to consider for your refurbishment. Look at new and different ideas on this site and others for how you are going to organise your decorating and paint scheme colours. Decide whether your going for light airy, or dark and rustic, or oldie worldie cottage style or something more modern.
Think about the style of worktops, consider granite or marble worktops. Consider new tiles, maybe updating the floor to make it a bit more jazzy, and definitely consider repainting the walls to brighten or change the colours in your kitchen.
